Tom Cowan

Tom hails from North of the Border and it would be quicker to list the clubs he hasn't played for his career has been that long and distinguished but here goes; Tom has played for Clyde, Rangers, Sheffield United, Stoke, Town, Burnley, Cambridge United, Peterborough, York City, Dundee, Carlisle United, Barrow, Workington, Hucknall Town, Stalybridge Celtic, Hyde and lastly, Retford United!

Tom joined us on loan initially before then making the permanent move to Town and being part of the FA Trophy final losing team as well as helping us get promoted in the 94/95 season via the play-offs - two great achievements in Tom's 150+ appearances for us.

Tom now works as a fireman - moved on from saving our goal with last ditch tackles, to saves lives on a daily basis! Big respect...

TEAM - The Huddersfield Edition

Darren Bullock

Darren starred Town in midfield but also plied his trade at Swindon Town & Bury at a professional level.

Bullock started his playing career at non-league Malvern Town before moving on to Nuneaton Borough; it was then in 1993 that Town paid a whopping £55k and like rarely seen in this day and age (other than when Hoggy isn't banned) his battling skills made him a firm favourite at Town. He was a significant reason as to why Huddersfield Town won promotion to the Division One as Division Two playoff winners, and also reaching the FA Cup fifth round (can't remember getting that far since) and finishing eighth in the league a year later, narrowly missing out on a second successive promotion.

In 1997, he moved to Swindon Town for £400k, before moving on to Bury. He was loaned out to Rushden & Diamonds and Sheffield United (where he was reunited with Warnock who had signed him for Huddersfield) before being released on a free transfer to Worcester City.

In 2006, he appeared in the book 100 Fans' Favourites written by Alistair Straughan and published by Huddersfield Town for their Centenary.

Rodney Rowe

Rowe signed a professional contract at Huddersfield Town in July 1993, where he spent 5 years at his home-town club. He played a total of 46 games for Town, mostly from the sub's bench, and scored five goals.

One of these goals came in a Football League Trophy tie where he scored the winner. Rowe also played for Scarborough before they disbanded and Bury during this time, on loan. He played three games for Bury without scoring, and played 18 for Scarborough scoring two goals.

Rowe then spent three years at York, playing 108 games and scoring 28 in all competitions. Also during this time Rowe was loaned out to our neighbours, the Shaymen.

Rowe signed for Gillingham in 1999. Playing 23 games, 14 of those appearances from the bench, scoring four goals.

Rowe signed for Hull City in 2001 on a free, his last league club scoring 8 in 37 appearances.

Rowe then dropped down to non-League to play for Emley, Ashton Utd, Ossett Town, Farsley Celtic & finally Bradford PA - Rodney clearly loves a leaving party as much as he loves a game of football!
